Acorn tops awards shortlist

Acorn Marketing has emerged as the front-runner for this year’s An Post direct marketing awards after securing 26 nominations. Acorn, founded by Frank McCaughey, has campaigns shortlisted in, among others, B2B, finance, IT, telco, utility and charity categories. The agency also has work in contention for best direct mail high volume, best billing communication, new product or service and best loyalty programme.

Acorn clients include Eircom, 3 Business Mobile, Greenstar, 123.ie, Action Aid and Betpack.com. Other agencies on the awards shortlist include Cawley NeaTBWA, Chilli Pepper Marketing, DirectBrand, Dialogue, DMA, Goosebump, Ignition, Javelin, Spark Marketing Communications and Thynk. In-house campaigns in the running for awards include Aviva, Bord Gáis Energy, Peter Whelehan’s DMCM and Ogilvy.

Three prizes will be announced on the night – best copy, best overall creative and agency of the year.  Among those in the running for supplier of the year are Antidote Films, Data Conversion and RR Donnelly.  The awards gala dinner will be held in the Mansion House on Thursday, May 5, with Oliver Callan from Nob Nation as MC.
