Designers out to prove ideas that pay off

The 15th annual Irish Design Effectiveness Awards (IDEA) presentation takes place in the Westin Hotel in Dublin next Friday, November 6. Organised by Design Business Ireland, the awards aim to celebrate the relationship between client and designer and reward projects that have achieved excellence in design and in achieving business objectives.
This year’s judging panel includes Roger Jupp, Millward Brown Lansdowne; Claire McTigue, Irish Pride; Seamus O’Doherty, Cruickshanks; Hugh Stevens, Enterprise Ireland; Cathy Burke, Dublin Airport Authority; Aidan Byrne, Baker Tilly and Marc Thornton, DTA Marketing.
Judging is divided between assessment of written case studies, representing 75 per cent of the marks, and the review of the actual visual material presented, representing 25 per cent. The reason for this is to ensure effectiveness of the assignment carries the greatest weight.
Last year’s gala winner was Dynamo, the branding agency run by Jamie Helly, for its work for Voya.
