Novel initiative to help Ireland's fiction writers

Stinging Fly publisher and editor Declan Meade has put a call out to advertising copywriters and other creatives of a similar bent who are in the early stages of a novel and feel they could benefit from a relationship of similar-motivated people. Meade plans to form a group of no more than ten writers under the direction of Irish novelist and short story writer Sean O’Reilly.
The group will meet for workshops held every Monday evening over six months. At each meeting, two writers will present their work in progress to the rest of the group for close scrutiny. Each writer can look forward to having their work examined at least four times.
As well as the weekly workshops, held at the Irish Writers Centre in Parnell Square in Dublin, there will be specialist talks on one Saturday every month. The cost of the course is €1,500.
