IAPI to salute women in adland

IAPI Doyenne Award

The Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) has launched a new award to recognise outstanding talent shown by a woman in Irish advertising. The IAPI Doyenne Award is run in association with the Sunday Business Post. The award will be made on the merits of success, ability and leadership skills to a nominee showing the potential to rise to upper management levels in advertising, media and PR.

The award presentation in March coincides with International Women’s Day.

The judging panel will be chaired by Deirdre Waldron, managing director, Cawley NeaTBWA, with support from Gervaise Slowey, CEO. Communicorp and Ogilvy’s former managing director; Jimmy Murphy, director, Publicis; Margaret Ward, CEO, Clear Ink and Siobhán Lennon, commercial director, The Sunday Business Post.

Entrants must submit the online entry form alongside a 500-word summary on how they show their leadership potential, how they fulfil their role in the work place and provide examples of their successes. Entry forms should be signed by the entrant, a member of senior management in the company and a fee of €75.

The closing date for entries is February 14. The winner will be announced at a breakfast in Fallon & Byrne restaurant on March 5. Further information and entry forms are available at www.iapi.ie/doyenne
