McHugh to join Leo Burnett

Former Initiative deputy managing director Emer McHugh is to join Leo Burnett as head of digital in September. McHugh, who was among the senior managers to quit Initiative following Chris Rayner’s move to New York, has over 15 years experience in the business, including stints with Mindshare and Clear Channel.

A graduate of DIT, she joined the Initiative board in 2007 and spearheaded the agency’s digital services. Burnett clients include Kellogg’s, Nissan, GAA, Penneys, Nivea and Seven Seas. The agency recently won the RTE Guide after a four-way competitive pitch. The account will be handled by Julie Crawford.

Elsewhere in adland, Vizeum has appointed Fiona Fagan as TV planner and buyer. She was previously with Publicis Media and has experience working on telco, retail, insurance and FMCG brands. She holds a BA in communications studies and a masters in advertising from DIT Aungier Street.
