OMD to lose Vodafone

Vodafone Ad with Yoda

OMD has lost the £600 million global media planning and buying business for Vodafone, which is set to move to either WPP’s Group M or Dentsu’s Aegis network agencies Carat and Vizeum. Omnicom’s OMD has not made it through to the final stages of the review. OMD has worked for Vodafone for 17 years, apart from a six-month break in 2009. It handles the mobile brand’s global account along with some local agencies.

Grey London handles Vodafone worldwide with Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R hired for the UK. Anne Mulcahy is head of brand and communications for Vodafone Ireland, having joined from Diageo four years ago.
