Radio app gets 70k downloads

McCann Blue Irish Radio Player App

The Irish radio player app had 70,000 downloads in its first six weeks since launch. The app is a joint venture between the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland (IBI) and RTE and listeners can download all 43 IBI and RTE stations in the Republic. The app allows easy switching between stations, storing favourites and interacting with social media feeds.

McCannBlue worked with Q102 chief executive Scott Williams and RTE’s Paul Mulligan. The radio spots were created by McCannBlue’s Graham Stewart. Today FM’s Mario Rosenstock did the voiceover.
