John Ruddy has resigned as Checkout editor and is set to join Dublin solicitors firm Matheson Ormsby Prentice (MOP) as communications manager. Ruddy joined the magazine four years ago from PR firm Gibney Communications. In a final editorial, he wrote that for close to 40 years, Checkout has been “the key publication for the Irish grocery sector”. For him, it had been a pleasure and privilege to have played a part in the journey.
In an ad in The Sunday Business Post calling for applications, Checkout publisher Kevin Kelly said the successful candidate should have strong communication skills and be capable of leading “a small, talented team with imagination and flair”.
