Setanta launches HD with Dublin game

Setanta Sports will broadcast its first GAA game in HD tomorrow with the screening of Dublin’s Allianz national league tie away to Armagh. The Armagh-Dublin game is also being shown on Setanta Ireland.The channel will broadcast 15 league games this spring, over half in HD, including Dublin’s games in Croke Park against Cork, Kerry and Down. Setanta’s John Devlin said advertising is available for all 15 games at €7,000 per pack.

Hurling fans will be able to watch the match between Tipperary and Kilkenny in HD on February 12.

The HD service is available to UPC digital subscribers. Setanta Sports recently launched Setanta Goals, allowing Setanta.com visitors the chance to see every goal from Barclays Premier League games. They can also see the player, saves and goals of the week. Setanta’s new schools rugby page complements their TV coverage of the tournament and features the latest news and interviews with fans and former players.
