UPC adds BBC HD in time for British royal wedding

Subscribers to UPC digital HD will be able to watch the wedding ceremony from Westminster Abbey of Prince William and Kate Middleton (pictured) in high definition this Friday following the addition of BBC One HD to its platform. The channel will be on UPC channel 140. Soap fans can watch EastEnders in HD for the first time on UPC, along with The One Show, The Apprentice, Strictly Come Dancing and The Graham Norton Show.

Sky has been promoting its extensive HD coverage of the royal wedding in recent weeks. Other channels will be covering the event from breakfast time this Friday, including UTV, RTE 1 and TV3. The arrival of BBC One HD brings the number of HD channels on UPC to 12. Other HD services include sports channels Setanta, ESPN and Eurosport, along with History, National Geographic, Discovery and Disney Cinemagic for youngsters.
