Aegis wins €15m Eircom-Meteor

Aegis-owned agencies Carat and Vizeum have pipped Group M and Initiative to land the combined Eircom and Meteor media planning and buying account. The business, estimated to be worth €15 million, is a major boost for Aegis after Carat lost Vodafone to OMD last year following an international alignment.

Group M’s Mindshare previously handled the Eircom business while Vizeum had Meteor. Mindshare is also the agency for 3 Mobile. Should Group M have won Eircom-Meteor and to avoid a conflict on the mobile front, Group M boss Bill Kinlay planned to move the account into Maxus or set up a new division.
