Barry Group, the Mallow-based retailer which owns and operates the Costcutter, Quik Pick and Carry Out franchises, has appointed Moody Public Relations and The Engine Room to handle its PR, advertising and promotions after a six-way pitch process in December. Barry Group serves over 1,000 independent clients in Ireland and overseas.
Costcutter’s public profile is likely to be raised following Barry’s sponsorship/product placement deal with TV3 for its new soap, Red Rock. Moody PR is run by Caroline Moody, who held senior client service roles at WHPR and Grayling before going out on her own in 2007. Moody’s clients include Sims IVF, Irish Autism Action and Air France-KLM.
Media buyer Cáit Maguire set up The Engine Room eight years ago, having worked with Today FM, TV3 and the Daily Mail. The Engine Room’s clients include Sims IVF, Galway Arts Festival and Taste of Dublin.
