Bord Gais Energy to WPP after global review

Bord Gais Energy (BGE) has moved its creative account from Publicis to JWT Folk following BGE’s owner Centrica aligning its advertising and media business globally with WPP group agencies. The WPP alignment follows a six-month review by Centrica for a “new integrated marketing operating model”. Mindshare already handled BGE in Ireland.
In the UK, Centrica’s British Gas remains with WPP’s The&Partnership and MediaCom.
WPP, which had vied with Publicis Groupe and McCann Worldgroup, pitched under a Team Nucleus umbrella, pooling staff in offices in North America, the UK and Ireland. Before moving to Publicis – an agency widely lauded for its BGE work – DDFH&B rolled out ‘The Big Switch’ multimedia campaign, which was fronted by TV personality Lucy Kennedy.
Prior to that, BGE’s creative was with The Larkin Partnership and Irish International.
