The launch of Dublin’s newest luxury design hotel, the €130 million Marker, which opens on April 2, is being handled by PR agency Fleishman-Hillard. Operated by Interstate Hotels & Resorts, the 187-bedroom hotel is located on Grand Canal Square. It is owned by Kevin McGillicuddy, head of Brehon Capital and Midwest Holdings, the Spitzer’s US property company. Rates start at €170, room-only, rising to € 250 from May.
The six-storey Marker will be managed by Charlie Sheil, formerly of the Waldorf Astoria in New York. The ground floor features a cocktail bar and brasserie. A roof-top garden and bar overlooks the nearby Convention Centre and has views stretching from Dun Laoghaire to Howth. The Marker’s cocoon-like spa includes a 23-metre infinity pool, whirlpool bath, sauna and steam room. JHP Design in London created the brand identity.
The hotel does not have an ad agency at present.
