Tourism Ireland won four awards at the Clio advertising awards show in New York. The honours were for the Publicis London campaign to promote the Wild Atlantic Way, which reportedly reached 40 million people worldwide this year. The Clios aim to salute “groundbreaking work and talent that pushes the boundaries of creativity”. The gala ceremony at Cipriani on New York’s Wall Street was hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, with honorary award recipients Jerry Seinfeld and Blondie also in attendance.
Tourism Ireland won gold in the music digital integrated category, a silver in the music innovative media category and two bronze Clios in the music in film and music in digital/social categories. The Wild Atlantic Way has been promoted across various platforms, including TV, print and online. Tourism Ireland invited electro-Indie band Solomon Grey to travel along the Wild Atlantic way in a mobile studio, to create music inspired en route.
