TAM Ireland and Nielsen TAM have commissioned independent research company RSMB to review proposed changes to the panel controls and viewing trends among younger adult audiences. Panel controls are reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure that the panel accurately reflects the make up of TV homes in the Republic.
Aidan Dunne, chairman, TAM Ireland, said an independent view ensures the service is consistent with international best practice and is a response to the increasing demands and complexity of the country’s TV industry. A report on the review is expected before the end of the summer.
Separately, RSMB has been asked to report back on trends on young adult viewers in June. TAM’s contract with Nielsen allows for a wider panel audit annually and Dunne said it is likely to proceed later this year.
