Joe Webb has been appointed as chief operations officer with Dentsu Aegis Network Ireland media and advertising group. As part of the Japanese Dentsu ad giant, its companies include Carat, Copernicus, iProspect, Isobar and Vizeum. A qualified accountant, Webb held senior marketing and management roles with Independent News & Media (INM) for many years.
He held the post of CEO of INM’s Irish operation before leaving to join Dunnes Stores. Announcing the formal appointment, Dentsu Aegis Ireland CEO Liam McDonnell said Webb’s focus will be on delivering improved client value, innovation and revenue growth. “He brings an enormous wealth of experience, drive and ambition to our business,” McDonnell added.
Webb said it was fantastic to be joining a powerhouse such as Dentsu Aegis Network with its drive for success. “In a market facing the challenge and opportunity that the digital revolution poses I couldn’t be joining a better team,” he added. Clients include Bank of Ireland, Diageo, General Motors, Glanbia, Irish Water, Kellogg, Kerry Foods, Ikea, Meteor and Newstalk.
Dentsu handles German sportswear giant Adidas worldwide.
