Maxol washes help sick kids

Ken Doherty for Maxol Make-a-Wish Car Wash

Maxol is running its Wash for Wishes carwash fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Ireland all this week. Starting today and running until Sunday, motorists can avail of carwash facilities at participating Maxol service stations, with €2 from every carwash going to Make-a-Wish. All the funds raised will help the charity reach this year’s target of granting 210 wishes to children around the country, which is a 60 per cent increase on last year.

Having a wish granted can be a life-changing experience for a child struggling with a serious medical condition. The wish experience can have a positive impact on a child’s physical, mental, emotional and social well-being. The Maxol service stations taking part are listed on www.maxol.ie. Pictured at the launch are Jake Shanley (5) and Ken Doherty, snooker player and Make-A-Wish’s longest-standing ambassador.
