Walsh and O’Sullivan join Marketer of the Year judging

Sharon Walsh, Heineken Ireland

Heineken marketing director Sharon Walsh and Paul O’Sullivan, head of marketing at Volkswagen Passenger Cars, will help judge this year’s Marketer of the Year. Walsh has extensive consumer marketing experience, having held various roles at Coca-Cola Ireland for 13 years and two years at Diageo.  She joined Heineken three years ago, initially as interim marketing manager. She was a Marketer of the Year finalist in  2007.

Paul O'Sullivan, VW

O’Sullivan joined VW two years ago and was marketing director at Nissan Ireland for over 15 years. He spent almost six years with Cablelink, now UPC. He started his career with Ford in 1989 and worked there for over two years. Speaking at a talk hosted by MCCP The Planning Agency, O’Sullivan said VW was not just about building cars, it was about creating life experiences, a message that needed to be properly communicated.

A Marketing.ie initiative, launched in 1993, Marketer of the Year is run in association with Alternatives.

Full details on this year’s competition will be announced soon, along with a call for entries.
