Aidan Greene chairs Dublin Film Festival

Core deputy CEO Aidan Greene is to chair the Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival. Greene will combine his experience of working in adland with his love of film. Other board members are Anne-Marie Curran of PR agency Drury Porter Novelli, Ruth Hunter, Hugh Linehan, Ronan Murphy, Suzanne Noble, Mark O’Halloran and Paula Woods.

Greene spent two years as president of the Institute of Advertising Practitioners of Ireland (IAPI), the  representative body for Ireland’s ad agencies. He was previously managing director of MediaVest, now known as Spark Foundry. He launched the Clear Blue Water direct response agency in 2005, before taking the reins at MediaVest in 2007.

He has also worked in Ogilvy and Carat. He represented the ad industry as chairman of the Joint National Readership Survey (JNRS) committee and currently sits on the management committee of the Joint National Outdoor Research (JNOR). He has lectured at DIT and the Fitzwilliam Institute. This year’s DIFF runs from February 20 to March 3.

Over the past 15 years, the festival has hosted over 550 guests, including winners of the festival’s Volta Award such as Al Pacino, Julie Andrews, Danny DeVito, Daniel Day-Lewis, Joss Whedon, Brendan Gleeson, Angela Lansbury, Paul Schrader, Stanley Tucci, Stellan Skarsgård, Kristin Scott Thomas and screen music composer Ennio Morricone.

DIFF partners include The Merrion Hotel, Dublin City Council and Fáilte Ireland.
