Aviva Insurance has hired Dublin poet Stephen James Smith to deliver a video tribute to all frontline healthcare workers. The spoken wordsmith penned a piece capturing a message of gratitude to the Health Service Executive (HSE) while the Aviva Stadium on Lansdowne Road was lit up in the HSE’s corporate colours of green and red.
Smith’s poem, ‘Unite By Standing Part’, features in a new Aviva video using moments from international matches to show the importance of Ireland continuing to unite as a country in support of healthcare workers. The video features the stadium’s new LED and lighting installed for the Euro 2020 games now due to played in Dublin next year.
The stadium will continue to be lit up in the HSE colours from 8.30–10.30 p.m. every Friday until the end of the month. Aviva will donate international rugby and soccer tickets to HSE frontline staff for games at the stadium once sport resumes. The company worked with Stephen James Smith on ‘Earned the Spotlight’ for the women’s national team and the ‘Slam it Home’ for Ireland’s 2018 St Patrick’s Day tournament win against England.
