Core Sponsorship has announced the further expansion of its practice with the appointment of two new sponsorship directors and a senior media sponsorship manager. Karen Doyle (right) joins as media sponsorship director from IRS + where she was in sales and marketing. She will negotiate and implement client media sponsorship strategies.
Sean Rea has been promoted to head of media sponsorship after six years with Core. His clients have included Ulster Bank, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) and Betway. In his new role, Rea will be responsible for the planning and implementation of Core’s media sponsorship campaigns and the overseeing of client management.
Sarah Geoghegan joins Core Sponsorship as senior media sponsorship manager after five years at Virgin Media Television (VMTV). In her previous role as partnerships manager, Geoghegan managed various client campaigns, including Gillette, P&G’s sponsorship of Ireland AM and Xposé and Homebase’s first ever TV sponsorship in Ireland.
She also worked on Strong Roots sponsorship of Virgin Media’s coverage of the Guinness Six Nations. It won gold for Core Sponsorship in the media sponsorship category of the 2020 European Sponsorship Awards (ESAs). The agency won four awards at the ESAs, including sponsorship of the year for An Post’s sponsorship of the Irish Book Awards.
