The Marketing Society reminds its members that the closing date for entries in this year’s Research Excellence Awards is 4pm next Tuesday, November 8th. The awards are open to all research practitioners in the Republic. Entrants must be society members and the field work should have been conducted between the start of January 2010 and the end of last month. The entry charge per category is €200, or three categories for €500.
Entries may be made in six categories, namely advertising/creative development; brand development and strategy; excellence in qualitative research; new product development; public policy/social research and innovation in research approach. The judges may also decide to nominate a grand prix winner.
The judges are Orlaith Blaney, chief executive, McCann Erickson Dublin; Robin Addis, formerly Millward Brown Lansdowne; Prof Darach Turley, ex-professor of marketing, DCU; Margaret Gilsenan, planning partner, Boys and Girls and Deirdre Wafer, a marketer who worked with Meteor and Bank of Ireland. The winners will be announced at the society’s Christmas lunch in the Shelbourne hotel on December 9th.
