The race for the US presidency may be dysfunctional these days but plans by Ireland’s Digital Marketing Institute (DMI) to expand Stateside continue to progress. The DMI has announced a new partnership with the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah’s flagship higher education institution. The university will the institute’s range of certs in digital marketing.
The division focuses on delivering programmes to give students skills which can translate into positive results in business. A recent study showed Utah ranking high for digital marketing job opportunities in the US, with the highest concentration of PPC jobs per capita and third highest for SEO jobs, based on over 75,000 listings on Indeed.com in June.
Its tech start-up scene earned the metro areas of Salt Lake City, Provo and Park City the nickname of Silicon Slopes. Since June, DMI has signed three US partnerships. Commenting on the Utah deal, Ian Dodson, the institute’s co-founder and director, said study after study shows that those with certified qualifications in digital marketing are in demand globally.
Founded in Dublin, Ireland in 2008, DMI is the certification standard in digital marketing education, training more graduates to a single standard than any other certification body. The University of Utah, located in the foothills of the Wasatch Range, was founded in 1850 and serves over 33,000 students from across the US and the wider world.
