Mike Garner has been promoted to creative director at Core, having joined the agency in March as creative consultant. He had been head of creative strategy at Ogilvy Dublin where he worked on Boots, Ford, Glenilen Farm, Siro and Trocaire. The move was seen as part of a strategy by Core’s Alan Cox to develop the company’s creative offering to clients.
Core has rolled out TV campaigns for Lily O’Brien’s and An Garda Siochana.
Garner is a founding partner and creative director of Chemistry, before which he and Chemistry co-founder Ray Sheerin worked together at Saatchi & Saatchi’s below the line agency Equator. He was the advertising chair for the Institute of Creative Advertising & Design (ICAD) in 2017. He is a graduate of Canterbury Christ Church University in Kent.
