Good Grub provides kids with fresh fruit and veg

PR and marketing agency Cullen Communications is providing free PR and digital support to the not-for-profit Good Grub initiative launched by Denis O’Reilly and Dave Kelly. Good Grub aims to fundraise €250,000 to deliver fresh fruit and vegetables to the families of disadvantaged schoolkids in Dublin, who normally get their breakfast and lunch at school.

While Deis continues to supply a basic food pack to thousands of families in and around Dublin, Good Grub is trying to raise funds to deliver fresh food to these school children for as long as the crisis continues. Good Food was rolled out by tour and CSR event manager Denis O’Reilly, along with freelance creative Dave ‘Disco’ Kelly.

O’Reilly said a donation of €10 will provide two families with a week’s worth of fruit and veg, while €40 will provide two families with a month’s worth of fresh food. “A donation of €120 will provide six families with a month’s worth of fruit and vegetables, so we’re asking anyone who can help to please dig deep,” he added.

Good Grub has the backing of a number of partners including:

  • The Aisling Project, an after-school initiative serving the community of Ballymun is the official charity partner for the Good Grub initiative
  • Glanmore Foods, a family-owned food business that has, for years, been serving healthy lunches to schools across the country. They will prepare and package the vital fruit and veg parcels and will deliver them to schools for onward delivery to families in each area.  A member of Guaranteed Irish, Glanmore is supplying the fruit and veg for the Good Grub initiative at cost price.
