Google now worth $100 billion

Google’s brand value is now put at $100 billion and its worth jumped by 16 per cent in the last 12 months making it the world’s most recognised and valued brand for the third year in a row, Millward Brown’s BrandZ report shows. Microsoft was second on $76.2bn, up eight per cent on 2008, followed by Coca-Cola, IBM, McDonald’s, Apple and China Mobile.
Blackberry had the biggest growth, up 100 per cent to $27bn, while Amazon had an 85 per cent year-on-year jump to $21bn.
Initiative Ireland is now officially a certified Google media buying and planning agency. Evelyn Peters, Gillian Meagher and Emer McHugh all passed the Google Advertising Professional Exam, which combined with a spend of over $100,000 in 90 days, provided the agency with its certification.
