Hidden Hearing is to sponsor the current series of the Today with Sarah McInerney current affairs show on RTÉ Radio 1 until the end of the summer. The Sunday Times columnist has hosted the show since Seán O’Rourke stepped down from the role last month. McInerney’s presentation style has been described as “forensic, relentless and fierce”.
The deal was brokered by Initiative working to Hidden Hearing’s Dolores Madden.
The summer sponsorship consists of 6 x 10” sponsor credited stings per day and seven sponsor credited promos across the RTÉ Radio 1 schedule per week, as well as homepage and podcast sponsorship. A decision on who will permanently replace O’Rourke is due soon, with Claire Byrne and Miriam O’Callaghan also said to be in the running.
