What makes advertising seem better than any other industry? The ideas. The sometimes mad, always creative ideas. They’re what get us excited every day and what we strive to deliver continually. And even the naysayers who publicly object to advertising tend to enjoy the spectacular, crazy, funny and at times artistic ideas that can sprout from adland.
Ican was asked by the Institute of Advertising Practitioners of Ireland (IAPI) to create a concept to promote the postgraduate diploma course in DIT. The course differs from those in other universities as it is fully endorsed by Ireland’s advertising industry and its employees – 75 per cent of the lecturers and mentors on this diploma course work in agencies.
They range from creatives to MDs, strategists to media planners. Furthermore, 93 per cent of the courses’ alumni hold positions in agencies around Dublin. For anyone looking to start a career in advertising, the IAPI course is said to be the best place to do so. That’s why Ican created a video called ‘What if…’ with some great Irish ads.
The video celebrates some of the maddest, creative ideas that were made over the last three decades in Ireland. Many of who are graduates of the DIT course made them possible. Over 12 agencies, including Owens DDB, Irish International, Ican, Cawley Nea, DDFH&B, Core Media (image above), Eightytwenty and Rothco provided their work.
Applications can be made at http://iapi.ie/postgrad/apply.html
The deadline is December 21st 2015.
