A new venture designed to help the freelance community is launching in Ireland. The Indie List has been developed by Úna Herlihy and Peter McPartlin to highlight the wide array of independent talent in Irish marketing, media and creative services. The 100+ freelance list covers commercial creativity, strategy, project management and digital services.
Herlihy is a pitch doctor for clients hiring marketing services agencies and for those wishing to structure a clearer working relationship with their agencies. McPartlin has worked in advertising and media. He was previously with Carat and is a former CEO of Today FM. Both Herlihy and McPartlin worked together at Irish International, now BBDO.
The spark for the new venture started when Herlihy recently compiled a list of the available freelance talent seeking work and trying to match them up with clients and agencies. The Indie List aims to be the primary source of independent, strategic, creative and digital talent in Ireland. There is no charge for freelancers to be included on the list.
The service is funded by a small levy on clients who engage people on the database.
The Indie.ie website was designed by Belfast-based Byers + Co.
