Aer Lingus’s head of digital marketing Derek Liddy has been appointed as the new president of the Association of Advertisers in Ireland (AAI), the body which lobbies on behalf of advertisers and promotes their interests nationally. Liddy has over 20 years’ experience in developing digital strategies and marketing, as well as TV and video communications.
Liddy replaces Roma O’Connor of Bank of Ireland in the role.
At Aer Lingus, he has global responsibility for the airline’s online acquisition strategy and sales. Prior to this, he was head of digital strategy at online agency Continuum and worked in senior roles at Anglo Irish Bank and Animo Communications. He is also on the board of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASAI) and has a BA in economics and Italian from UCD.
He has a higher diploma in marketing practice from the Smurfit Graduate Business School.
