RTÉ Media Sales has announced McDonald’s as sponsor of RTÉ 2fm’s Breakfast with Doireann & Eoghan. The new breakfast show airs weekdays from 6am to 9am. Brokered by Core Sponsorship, the year-long deal includes 50 x 10-second stings a week, 31 sponsorship spots across the station’s schedule and a podcast and homepage tie-in.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Tara Farrell, commercial solutions manager, RTÉ Media Sales, said 2FM’s new schedule allows brand owners to target 165,000 15-34-year-olds. Jennifer Power, senior media and marketing manager, McDonald’s UK & Ireland, said radio allows the fast food brand be contextually relevant during this day-part so the partnership is an ideal fit.
