NDC hosts student ad awards

Twelve teams of secondary school students will compete in the first NDC Milk It! advertising awards in the Aviva Stadium next Tuesday. The students formed ‘agencies’ and researched, created and planned campaigns aimed at their peers by urging teenagers to meet their dietary recommended five dairy portions a day.

Ireland athlete Dervla O’Rourke, above, will present the awards. The competition saw 325 teachers from 274 schools around the country register teams for the awards. The students were provided with a brief and guidelines and worked in teams of six, with client service, media, creative and research roles.

The judges include Richard Curran, Sunday Business Post; Brian Swords, IAPI; Shay Keany, ZenithOptimedia; Paula Mee, dietician and Professor Andrea Prothera, UCD Smurfit Graduate School of Business.
