Ireland’s out of home (OOH) advertisers are joining forces to promote #ShineYourLight. Organised by PML Group, the OOH campaign will see digital screens across the country broadcast a special supporting message on Friday and Saturday in the lead-up to and during the event at 9pm this Saturday with a simultaneous nationwide takeover of screens.
The move is supported by Clear Channel, Exterion Media, Micromedia, Orbscreen, MJ Flood Digital/Promogroup, Pzazz Media, Brightside Media and Wide Eye Outdoor, with screens showing the message at 9pm. RTÉ’s #ShineYourLight/#LonraighdoSholas campaign asks that we unite as a country in this time of darkness to shine a light in our homes.
A government backed initiative, #ShineYourLight provides a moment for people to come together and take part in shared action this Easter weekend. Everyone can take part by shining a light that can be seen from their home for all the people who are sick, those who have lost their lives and the loved ones who remain, reminding us that love and hope prevails.
People are also encouraged to share pictures of their lights using the hashtag #ShineYourLight. Local authorities, sporting bodies, government and industry will also #ShineYourLight by lighting up national, international, public and privately-owned buildings.
Geoff Lyons, managing director, PML Group, said it is impressive to witness communities coming together in this extraordinary time – yet not so surprising. “It’s heartening to see how all of our collective effort is going some way to fight this battle against Covid-19. While we have some way to go yet, this initiative is another strong sign of our solidarity.
