Public urged to create radio ad

ThinkIrish.ie has launched a campaign urging consumers to create a radio commercial to run on Today FM. In what may be a global first, the not-for-profit group, which promotes Irish goods and service in an effort to generate 20,000 new jobs, is using Facebook and Twitter and its own website to drum up interest.

The idea is to create a grass-roots, crowd-sourced radio spot with a voice-over provided by members of the public who will be recruited and audition online. The concept was the brainchild of Bonfire directors Ian Doherty and Sean Hynes, who created the ThinkIrish.ie brand and built the website free of charge.

Doherty said that they expect to see the call for entries to run until the end of July. They will then edit the best takes into one or two commercials for broadcast on Today FM.  Anyone interested in entering can log on to the ThinkIrish.ie website or click on the direct link http://thinkirish.ie/radio/index.php
