UCD Lochlann Quinn School of Business is to host New York Times bestselling author Jeetendr Sehdev as he discusses his new book, The Kim Kardashian Principle: Why Shameless Sells (and How to Do It Right). The event in Belfield at 6.15pm next Monday coincides with Kardashian’s 39th birthday and is open to students and the general public.
Sehdev appears on shows like E!, Access Hollywood and CNN Tonight and in numerous publications such as Vogue, GQ and L’Officiel. He works with the UN to help raise awareness and promote efforts to combat modern-day slavery. Described by Variety as “the best in the business”, Sehdev has been heralded as a a trailblazer in pop culture insights.
His branding rules have been identified as the inspiration behind one of the most talked-about ad campaigns in recent history – Nike’s ‘Just Do It’ with Colin Kaepernick. A native of Bristol in England, he graduated from Oxford University before moving to Boston to attend Harvard Business School. He began his career in advertising at Ogilvy in New York.
Sehdev now lives in Los Angeles.
UCD Quinn School director Dr Maeve Houlihan will join the Harvard Business School alumnus in a fireside chat. Sehdev will discuss the counter-intuitive and provocative rules from his book, including focusing on what people want to create regardless of the blowback, embracing hate today as a status symbol and aiming for imperfection, not perfection.
