Setanta Sports will show 26 live and exclusive games from this summer’s Copa America tournament in Argentina and has announced a package for advertisers. Rated as one of the world’s most popular sporting events, July’s tournament is due to feature some of the best soccer talent on the planet.
Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Manchester United striker Javier Hernández are expected to line out for Argentina and Mexico respectively. Other players who may feature include Liverpool’s in-form striker Luis Suárez, Carlos Tévez of Manchester City, Diego Forlán (pictured) of Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid’s Kaká.
There is currently speculation that Kaká may sign for Chelsea in the close season. The Brazilian schemer joined Real Madrid from AC Milan for a staggering £70 million and is reportedly paid £257,000 a week.
Setanta are offering advertisers a €7,900 package which includes one 30-second spot in all 26 games, plus repeats, plus bonus spots. Most of the games will go out live during peak viewing times from July 1-24.
