SparkQual has been nominated for a total of five campaigns in this year’s Marketing Society Research Excellence Awards which will be presented next month. The agency has the two campaigns in the advertising and creative category for Unilever and Britvic Ireland, plus three out of the four contenders in the qualitative category for AIB, Birds Eye and Britvic. SparkQual is run by Marketing Society chairman Aoife Sadlier.
Behaviour & Attitudes and Red C each have three campaigns shortlisted. B&A has two nominations in the brand development and strategy category for Meteor/eMobile and the Global Dairy Platform. Red C is nominated in this category for Fáilte Ireland. B&A is shortlisted for Metro Herald in the innovation category and Red C is in the running here for RTE. Red C’s third campaign is a public policy and social research job for RTE.
The awards are open to all research practitioners in the Republic. Entrants must be society members and the field work should have been conducted between the start of January 2010 and the end of last month. The entry charge per category is €200, or three categories for €500. The judges may decide to award a grand prix.
The judges are Orlaith Blaney, chief executive, McCann Erickson Dublin; Robin Addis, formerly Millward Brown Lansdowne; Prof Darach Turley, ex-professor of marketing, DCU; Margaret Gilsenan, planning partner, Boys and Girls and Deirdre Wafer, a marketer who worked with Meteor and Bank of Ireland. The winners will be announced at the society’s Christmas lunch in the Shelbourne hotel on Friday, December 9th.
