The Irish Sun, the Rupert Murdoch-owned redtop, will donate all its advertising space to charities this Easter Monday. The move is aimed at helping Irish charities lessen the impact of the Covid-19 crisis by winning support from readers. Fundraising events which provide the financial lifeblood for many of them have been cancelled and donations are down.
Kieran McDaid, editor, Irish Sun, said many people have been badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, but volunteers and charities are still doing great work to help those most in need. “This is our chance to help them,” McDaid added. We’ll be offering free ad space, showcasing work in stories and providing the details to help readers donate to worthy causes.
