Three groups are due to pitch for a temporary radio news service to fill in for Independent Network News (INN) which is due to cease operating at the end of the month. The presentations are due to be made to a panel of stakeholders tomorrow.
Denis O’Brien’s Newstalk, UTV and a group headed by INN editor Richie McCullen have been invited to pitch for the short-term contract. Newstalk has been involved in providing news to a number of stations, including iRadio in the north west.
INN is now being managed by Dan Healy, a former Newstalk chief executive and a director of Wilton Radio, the holding company behind iRadio. Healy is standing in for John O’Connor, who quit INN last week.
