Adrian Weckler, group technology editor, Independent News & Media (INM), has won the sixth annual David Manley media award. The award honours journalists for their commitment to coverage of entrepreneurs. The judging panel comprised Dr Chris Horn, Professor Thomas Cooney, professor in entrepreneurship at DIT and Nicola Byrne, founder and CEO of 11890.
Weckler also comments on technology news and trends on TV and radio. He speaks at conferences and seminars on the opportunities technology offers to small businesses and professionals. Before joining INM, he was digital editor at the Sunday Business Post.
Previous winners of the David Manley Media award include Tom Lyons, then with The Irish Times, Chinedu Onyejelem, Metro Eireann, Tom McEnaney, John Kennedy, Silicon Republic and the inaugural winner, John Murray of RTE. Kantar Media sponsors the award.
