RTE has launched a new Radio 1 website with an emphasis on itemised content and update navigation tools. The functionality of the new site allows users to identify particular items on shows. Clare Duignan (above), managing director, RTE Radio, said online research by Gfk NOP Media shows that 70 per cent of Irish adults have visited a radio station’s website, with over half of these visiting to listen live to the station.
Of those who prefer to ‘listen back’, 90 per cent say the most important feature for them is to be able to choose an item or topic, rather than listen to an entire show. Duignan said they paid attention to better social media tools to allow content to be shared. Content is accessible by date, category and keyword.
