CLIONA HAYES is group marketing director at Communicorp, whose media brands include Newstalk, Today FM, 98FM and Spin 108. She joined the group in 2012 as 98FM’s marketing manager. She worked with Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard as senior brand manager for Jameson. She has a BA in French and sociology from UCD.

Door to door sales for Bridgestone Tyres in rural Australia. While it was the worst job at the time it was probably worth it in terms of learnings

I enjoy Malcolm Gladwell’s books

Why buy music when I can listen to the radio for free?

Grand Hotel Budapest or Amelie

That I’m serious. My close friends know better

Deadlines or my kids. Normally, I sleep soundly

11 Favourite ad?
So many great ads, but two would be the VW Darth Vader/The Force ad and Monty the Penguin John Lewis Christmas ad from two Christmases ago

13 A brand experience that disappointed you?
Expedia, after having problems with a booking in Italy. No one in Expedia would answer the phone, spent months trying to contact them by email, to no avail
14 What living person do you most admire?
Constantly in awe of both of my parents for so many reasons
15 Most embarrassing experience?
I was waiting to meet someone for a business meeting in the Atlantis hotel in Dubai. While in the foyer admiring the roof I was walking backwards and fell into a fountain. I fully submerged into the water. I went to my meeting in a teeshirt and shorts

The pure and beautiful innocence of children

The 60’s seemed like a lot of fun
