From a record number of 1,200 entries for this year’s NewsBrands Ireland Journalism Awards the competition has been narrowed down to a shortlist of 141 entries across 24 categories. All category winners are eligible for the Journalist of the Year gong. The shortlist was announced by the judging panel chairman Professor John Horgan.
The awards are run in association with the National Lottery.
There 1,200 entries was an increase of 50 per cent over the previous awards held in 2013. The winners will be announced at an event in Dublin’s Mansion House on Thursday, November 3. The special guest is Tánaiste and Minister for Justice & Equality Frances Fitzgerald. Pictured are Dermot Griffin, national Lottery and Vincent Crowley, NewsBrands.
