When I was 21, I was admitted to Cork University Hospital after a severe alergic reaction to something I ate. After a long night of relentless illness, sleep deprivation and medical tests, I was exhausted and highly medicated. One of the junior doctors, who was updating my chart, suddenly looked a little embarrassed himself and pulled the bed sheet back down. At which point I realised I was laying on my bed and ‘the bed sheet’ I had been pulling up was in fact my hospital gown. How embarrassing
