The Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI) has published a second collection of Effie Award winning case studies showing the best of creative effectiveness in the Irish market. Some information and results have been redacted for confidentiality reasons. IAPI joined the Effie network in 2019, to help expand Irish creative and marketing effectiveness onto a global stage. Up to then, they ran the AdFx awards show.
Founded over 50 years ago, Effie’s is a global symbol of achievement across the marketing communications industry, whose mission is in highlighting ideas that work and encouraging dialogue about the drivers of marketing effectiveness. Entries entered by May 21 this year are eligible for a 44 per cent saving. The final entry deadline is Tuesday, June 25. Effie Ireland sponsors include An Post Commerce, ESB and RTE Media Sales.

Chris Cashen (pictured), managing partner strategy at Mindshare, is the new vice president of IAPI. He was elected unanimously at a board meeting. He replaces Abi Moran, chief executive of Folk VML, who is now president of the institute. Cashen is a regular contributor to Marketing.ie. His career in adland started as an account executive with McConnells and AFA O’Meara. He then joined Dentsu’s Carat, where he spent over seven years.
His clients at Carat included Diageo and its flagship beer brand, Guinness. Before joining Mindshare, he worked at full-service agency Javelin for a period of time as its director of media. He currently heads up the strategic practice at GroupM and sits on the Ad Net Zero council, fronting media’s response to reducing emissions in the media planning and buying process. He has been on the board of IAPI since 2022.
