Book publishing venture pays off for Limerick mum

A Limerick mum who launched a series of new books to help her son who has a serious development brain disorder has won a prize valued at €15,000 in 4FM’s ‘Doing it for Themselves’ nationwide competition.
Avril Webster set up Off We Go Publishing as a learning tool for her son, Stephen, now aged ten, as a way of helping him to develop day-to-day skills and cope with new experiences in his life.
Webster’s Off We Go Publishing venture will now receive a radio and press advertising package plus a PR and advertising campaign provided by Unique Media to the value of €15,000.
Judging the 4FM competition were Senator Feargal Quinn, founder of Superquinn; Tanya Airey, managing director, Sunway Travel; Richard Curran, deputy editor, The Sunday Business Post and Martin Block, chief executive of 4FM.
4FM, the multi-city station targeting over-45s, reported 95,000 listeners a week, a one per cent market share, after only four months on air. The station’s top presenters include Gareth O’Callaghan, Jimmy Greeley, Derek Davis and Tom McGurk.
