Complaints about TV3 game show upheld

All 16 complaints made about Play TV, the controversial interactive game show on TV3, have been upheld by the Broadcasting Complaints Commission (BCC). The late-night premium-rate show invites viewers to phone in and solve puzzles to win various amounts of money.

Calls cost €1.50, even if the caller fails to be put through to the studio. The BCC said the quiz was “unfair” and “misleading”. One complainant said that when people ring in and answer a simple question, “99.9 per cent of the time” they get cut off without an entry being made.
