Core’s strategic director Finian Murphy has added another string to his career bow by being appointed marketing director at the marketing communications company. Murphy has worked with Core clients on research projects aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of consumer studies and insights across culture, people, markets, brands and activations.
Murphy’s new dual role sees him collaborate with all nine of Core’s practices – creative, data, investment, learning, media (comprising Mediaworks, Spark Foundry, Starcom and Zenith), recruitment, research, sponsorship and strategy. Core Learning is currently running a national radio campaign voiced by Newstalk presenter Sean Moncrieff.
Murphy joined Core in 2014. He had previously worked in strategy planning roles at BBDO Dublin and in media with Mindshare. He has developed research-led plans for Three, VHI, KBC, Heineken, Mars Europe, Diageo, the NFL and the GAA. His research projects include ‘The Future of Retail’, the ‘Cultural Index’ and, most recently, ‘Connected 2019’.
A marketing graduate from DIT, he has spoken at conferences such as SXSW and The Web Summit. He contributes regularly on radio and has written magazine articles for Marketing.ie.
