Paul Farrell is to make the switch from stockbroker Davy where he was director of brand and strategy to join Virgin Media as vice president of sales and marketing from July. Farrell takes over from acting sales and marketing VP Paul Higgins who becomes head of online and marketing. Farrell also joins Virgin Ireland’s executive board, reporting to CEO Tony Hanway.
Before joining Davy in 2014, he was managing director of IPG Mediabrands/Initiative for three years. He was commercial director at The Irish Times for four years and marketing director of 02 Ireland for five years. He worked for four years at MCI Worldcom (now Verizon Wireless) in London and spent over a year with Lee Enterprises in the US.
He chaired the Marketer of the Year judges panel for Marketing.ie.
